About
Chueh-Hui Huang is a Film Editor based in Los Angeles, originally from Taipei, Taiwan. She graduated from the University of Southern California Film and TV Production MFA program, and has been traveling across the world to create films.
Her enthusiasm for the art of filmmaking started at twelve years old when she watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Her senses, memories, and imagination were touched and aroused unimaginably, through the film’s unconventional storytelling structure. Since then, she has never stopped exploring and experimenting in the world of art. She wants to create films that are told in innovative ways and inspire others to experience life with new lenses.
She is interested in a wide range of themes, such as time, memory, identity, alienation, existential anxiety, chances and coincidences, etc. Some of her favorite films include The Double Life of Veronique, Inception, Fight Club, Searching for Sugar Man, and Fire of Love, just to name a few.
Chueh-Hui worked for years in commercial production; however, her love for narrative storytelling led her down a new path. She enjoys creating the emotions and meanings of film through editing. She challenges herself with each decision she makes. It could be hidden information through a character’s look, or the visual structure that manipulates audiences’ emotions unconsciously. She believes it’s all these detailed and deliberate thoughts that make a film great, and she is never tired of figuring them out.
Chueh-Hui has edited films in narrative, documentary, musical video, and animation. Her multi-background experience in different types and genres of films provides her with a great instinct for creative choices. With her producing background, she is self-motivated, good at working under pressure, and has always found creative solutions to problems. She looks forward to meeting like-minded filmmakers and bouncing off ideas for the next mind-blowing film.
